Enterprise-Wide Intelligent Maintenance and System Health Management
Used by customers across three continents and seven countries, the TEAMS Remote Diagnostic Server (RDS) is the ideal solution for system-wide health monitoring and distributed group telemaintenance. TEAMS-RDS can be deployed in a wide range of applications, including aircraft, commercial ships, complex capital equipment, automobiles, building systems, and more. As a network-based application, TEAMS-RDS collects sensor, test data, and diagnostic information from equipment and systems in the field and processes it through an intelligent reasoner. The resulting diagnostics and system health information are available in seconds and can be viewed from any web browser. TEAMS-RDS readily scales to handle hundreds or even thousands of target devices; it can also scale down to run as an embedded application on a PC controller, microcontroller, or standalone laptop.

Advanced Capabilities
TEAMS-RDS offers a comprehensive set of diagnostic capabilities, including:
- Proactive monitoring
- Real-time problem detection
- Model-based reasoning
- Fault isolation
- Guided troubleshooting
- System integrity testing
The advanced approach adopted by TEAMS uses cause-effect failure models to perform comprehensive diagnostics right out-of-the-box. In contrast with case-based and neural network diagnostics systems, this methodology eliminates the need for expensive, data intensive, incomplete machine learning approaches. Furthermore, the distributed client-server architecture used by TEAMS-RDS reduces the need to have “back-room” diagnostic/monitoring experts spread across multiple remote locations. All services on the system can be accessed remotely, eliminating the need to distribute updated technical procedures and manuals to end-users. Changes and updates to the server are instantly available to all customers and users worldwide. To deliver true interoperability and seamless device management, the software can be integrated with the customer’s supply chain systems, logistics databases, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
TEAMS-RDS can run over virtually any type of network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, optical, and wireless networks. All diagnostic results, test outcomes, and procedure steps occurring during maintenance are logged in TEAM-RDS for later analysis or display during future maintenance activities. TEAMS-RDS is supported with the following databases: MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL (SQL server).
Real-World Results
Any service agent, including machine operators and end-users, can use the guided diagnostics and troubleshooting tools included with TEAMS-RDS. This capability is part of QSI’s unique “Enhanced Service Coverage”; diagnostics are available immediately after the outage, not hours later when a field engineer arrives onsite. To highlight the diagnostic performance of TEAMS-RDS, the following real-world troubleshooting results were obtained from an optical inspection/imaging system customer.
